Job summary

Ausenco seeks an Experienced Piping Engineer to support its Mining & Metals team. You will design and analyze slurry and water piping systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and develop practical piping solutions that support safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications include a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5–10 years of piping experience in mining or industrial facilities, and a P.Eng. or near registration.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5 to 10 years of piping engineering experience in mining, minerals processing, or industrial facilities.
  • P.Eng. designation, or actively working toward professional registration.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic design principles for slurry and water piping systems.
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling software such as AFT Fathom, Pipe Flow, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of slurry handling systems, piping materials, valves, and related equipment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver piping engineering designs aligned with project requirements and Ausenco engineering standards.
  • Perform and verify hydraulic calculations for slurry, water, gravity flow, and pumped piping systems.
  • Develop hydraulic models using tools such as AFT Fathom, Pipe Flow, or similar software.
  • Support multidisciplinary design reviews and coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, and electrical teams.
  • Review piping layouts, P&IDs, and engineering deliverables to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Prepare technical specifications, data sheets, material take-offs, and procurement documentation.
  • Review vendor information and integrate equipment data into piping system designs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical quality, constructability, and project efficiency.

Job description

We are seeking an Experienced Piping Engineer to support our Mining & Metals team. In this role, plays a key part in the design and analysis of slurry and water transport systems, performing hydraulic calculations and developing practical piping solutions that support safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.

About the Role

Salary range: $98,000 - $125,000 annually.
