Job summary

Hatch in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer to provide technical leadership for piping scope across mining projects. The role focuses on delivering piping design, analyses, and multidisciplinary coordination through all project phases, with office-based work and occasional site visits.

The candidate will develop system requirements, calculations, and specifications, lead piping teams, and ensure compliance with design standards and budgets.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Plant Engineering, or a related discipline.
• P.Eng. designation required.
• 15+ years of project engineering experience, ideally with experience as a Piping Lead or progression toward a lead role.
• Strong knowledge of piping engineering standards, regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate across disciplines, and supervise technical staff.
• Experience managing engineering workflows, project execution procedures, schedules, and deliverables.
• Proficiency with 3D data-centric design systems and engineering management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage piping schedules, budgets, progress reporting, and change management.
• Lead development of P&IDs, piping isometrics, 3D models, layouts, and system designs.

• Perform hydraulic, slurry flow, pump selection, stress analysis, and line sizing studies.
• Develop piping specs, standards, procurement packages, and cost estimates.
• Support project execution through design reviews, reporting, construction support, and commissioning activities.

Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Senior Piping Lead in the Engineering consulting industry in Vancouver, British Columbia. Hatch's Vancouver team is seeking a Senior Piping Engineer with proven experience supporting mining and mineral processing projects. This role will provide technical leadership, manage piping scope, and lead engineering teams through all phases of project delivery. Responsibilities include developing system requirements, design criteria, engineering calculations, technical specifications, datasheets, and reports, while contributing to 3D models and 2D drawings. This is primarily an office-based role with occasional site visits, offering exposure to complex, multidisciplinary mining projects.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will have:

• BSc/BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Plant Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required.
• 15+ years of project engineering experience, ideally with experience as a Piping Lead or progression toward a lead role.
• Strong knowledge of piping engineering standards, regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate across disciplines, and supervise technical staff.
• Experience managing engineering workflows, project execution procedures, schedules, and deliverables.
