Socket.dev in Red Deer, Alberta seeks a Senior Payroll Specialist to lead weekly Canadian payroll for 500+ employees, ensuring accuracy, timely processing, and strict regulatory compliance.

You will prepare specialized payroll documents, manage garnishments, answer payroll inquiries, support audits and projects, and collaborate with the finance team while maintaining data integrity and excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably with experience in ADP or similar payroll systems.
• Proven track record of managing complex payroll operations for a large organization.
• Exceptional numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze large sets of data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, including the use of complex formulas and pivot tables.
• In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with a strong commitment to maintaining data integrity.
• Superior organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines.

The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for leading and managing payroll processes for over 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role involves preparing specialized payroll documents, managing payroll-related inquiries, and supporting various payroll projects and audits.

The compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience.
