Job summary

Export Packers is a Ontario-based food company seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to oversee Canada-wide payroll operations and drive HR/payroll system enhancements. The role reports to the Director of People & Culture and requires accuracy, integrity, and proactive process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of full-cycle payroll experience, PCP certification, and strong ADP Workforce Now skills, with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years full-cycle payroll processing experience.
• Certification as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is required; CPM is a strong asset.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Proficiency in payroll software (ADP Workforce Now).
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll for 200+ employees across Canada and journal entries.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for 70+ hourly employees in Ontario and related time reports.
• Ensure compliance with federal and provincial deductions, taxes, and benefits.
• Lead benefits programs and annual renewal processes for Health, RRSP, etc.
• Handle remittances and year-end reporting (T4, RL-1) and stay updated on tax laws.
• Deliver timely payroll support to employees and management and resolve inquiries.
