Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Senior Overhead Transmission Lines Engineer to lead design, estimation, planning, and quality management for high‑complexity projects across Canada. You will guide a design team, ensure safety, budgets, and timelines while delivering professional, sealed deliverables.

Based in Canada with hybrid work (2 days/week at office), you’ll apply PLS-CADD skills, coordinate multi‑discipline inputs, and mentor junior staff to advance engineering excellence within the Energy & Resources

Qualifications

• University Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience or over 10 years as a fully certified engineer.
• Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in Canada, or eligible for registration in Canada.
• Proficient with PLS-CADD and CAD systems; familiarity with drawing standards.
• Excellent English communication; French is an asset.
• Construction/Field work experience is required.
• Integrity, team spirit, and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project design team, including junior and intermediate staff.
• Design overhead lines and facilities for 60kV to 735kV in a utility environment; include towers, foundations, hardware.
• Prepare project documentation like reports, specifications, proposals, and test plans.
• Lead design work packages with scope, schedule, and cost; manage tasks.
• Provide signed/delivered engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record.
• Mentor junior staff and review designs for quality and compliance.
• Develop design criteria with multi-disciplinary input; ensure safety and quality.
• Review drawings and supervise field work; support construction as needed.
