Job summary

CIMA+ invites applications for a Senior Overhead Transmission Lines Engineer. This role focuses on delivering design, estimating, planning, and quality management for high-complexity projects in Canada. You will lead design teams, ensure safety and budgets, and mentor junior staff.

The position is hybrid (2 days in office) and can be based anywhere in Canada. Strong communication and bilingualism (English/French) are valued.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer license in Canada or eligible for registration.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project design team, including junior and intermediate staff.
• Design overhead lines and facilities for 60kV–735kV in an electric utility, including towers, foundations, hardware.
• Prepare project documentation: reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, design basis, test plans.
• Lead and manage design work packages with scope, schedule, and cost for existing and new facilities.
• Provide signed/sealed deliverables as a Professional of Record per regulations and practices.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff and review designs.
• Develop design criteria with multi-disciplinary inputs from the project team.
• Lead structural design, analysis, and detailing for structures, foundations, and hardware; review shop drawings.
• Provide field reviews and construction support as required.
