Job summary

CIMA+ is seeking a Senior Overhead Transmission Lines Engineer to deliver top‑tier engineering, estimating, planning and quality management. You will lead a project design team and direct work on 60kV–735kV facilities for a major Canadian utility.

This hybrid role (2 days at the office) can be based anywhere in Canada. You’ll mentor junior staff, review designs, ensure safety, schedule and budget compliance, and contribute to engineering standards within the Energy & Resources group.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience or >10 years as a fully certified engineer.
• Registered with a Canadian Professional Engineering association or eligible for registration.
• Proficient with PLS-CADD suite design/analysis software and CAD systems.
• Excellent English communication; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project design team, including junior and intermediate staff.
• Design overhead lines and facilities for 60kV to 735kV in a utility environment.
• Prepare project documentation: reports, specs, proposals, estimates, test plans.
• Lead work packages with scope, schedule, and cost; manage design tasks.
• Provide signed/sealed engineering deliverables as Professional of Record.
• Mentor junior staff and review designs.
