Job summary
Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a Senior OT Control Systems Engineer to join our on-site team in Saint John, New Brunswick.
You will design, support, and optimize OT and industrial automation systems to ensure safe, reliable operations across heavy industrial environments. You will lead commissioning, upgrades, and cybersecurity-aligned network designs while collaborating with operations, maintenance, and external vendors.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Technology, Industrial Automation, Instrumentation & Controls, or a related field.
- Professional engineering designation, engineering technologist certification, or relevant industry certifications are assets.
- Certifications in Honeywell technologies, Cisco networking, OT/ICS cybersecurity, instrumentation, or electrical disciplines are highly regarded
- 15+ years of OT/industrial automation or process control experience, preferably in heavy industrial settings.
- Experience with refining, petrochemical, energy, utilities, manufacturing, or process-driven industries is desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of OT/control system solutions to support objectives.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DCS, PLC, HMI, SIS, and asset monitoring platforms.
- Develop and maintain control strategies, configurations, and automation standards.
- Design and support industrial networks, ensuring high availability and cybersecurity compliance.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and modernization initiatives.
- Monitor system health, investigate issues, and provide advanced troubleshooting.
- Lead commissioning, startup, testing, and validation of control systems.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, cybersecurity, and vendors.
- Support process safety initiatives, risk assessments, and change management with proper documentation.
