CBCL Limited invites a Senior OT & SCADA Cybersecurity Specialist to join the Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering team in Halifax, NS. You will lead OT/SCADA cybersecurity risk assessments and design secure control architectures, collaborating with engineers and clients across water, power, oil & gas sectors.

You bring 10+ years in automation and controls, 5+ years in SCADA cybersecurity, and ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, or NERC familiarity. Flexible, multidisciplinary collaboration is key.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in automation and controls.
• 5+ years in SCADA cybersecurity risk assessments and design.
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in electrical eng, CS, or related field.
• Certifications in ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, or NERC preferred.
• Strong understanding of IC S/SCADA systems.
• Proficiency with cybersecurity tools and industrial protocols.
• Water/wastewater experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop OT & cybersecurity risk assessment frameworks for ICS across multiple industries.
• Meet with clients to discuss needs and build long-term relationships.
• Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments focused on ICS/SCADA systems.
• Design secure IC/SCADA hardware and software architectures.
• Develop and review control system network architectures (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, DNP3, OPC UA).
• Contribute to development of company design standards and QA processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to deliver OT cybersecurity solutions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior OT & SCADA Cybersecurity Specialist
to join our Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering team in Halifax, NS. Bring your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to a collaborative team that thrives on delivering cutting‑edge automation solutions across a wide range of industries.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• OT & Cybersecurity Standards: Develop the framework for OT & cybersecurity risk assessments and system design for industrial control systems across multiple industries, including water & wastewater, power, and oil & gas;
• Business Development: Meet with clients to discuss their needs, with the goal of building long term relationships;
• Risk Assessments: Complete cybersecurity risk assessments with a focus on IC S/SCADA control systems;
• System Design: Work with the design engineers for the selection of IC S/SCADA hardware and software to create efficient and secure control system architectures;
• Industrial Networking: Develop and review control system network architectures using industry‑standard communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, DNP3, OPC UA, etc.);
• Refine Standards: Support the development and continuous improvement of company design standards, master specifications, and quality assurance processes; and
• Teamwork: Work with multi‑disciplinary teams, general contractors, and clients to deliver best‑in‑class OT & cybersecurity solutions.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

• Minimum ten (10) or more years of experience in automation and controls;
• Minimum five (5) or more years of experience in SCADA related cybersecurity risk assessments and system design.
• Post‑secondary diploma or degree (electrical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering technology) or equivalent education and experience.
• Training and certification in ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, NERC, or equivalent IC S & critical infrastructure focused cybersecurity standards.
• Strong understanding of IC S/SCADA control systems;
• Proficiency with cybersecurity software tools, and industrial communication protocols; and
• Experience with water & wastewater control systems would be considered an asset.
