Job summary

OSCO Construction Group is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to provide strong, visible safety leadership on a large-scale industrial construction project in Saint John, New Brunswick. The role supports frontline supervision, trades, and project leadership to ensure work is performed safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, engage crews, identify risks before incidents occur, and reinforce safe work practices on a high-hazard site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial/construction safety.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Proven ability to work with union trades and supervision.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence workers.
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site safety leadership to project management and trades.
• Deliver safety orientations and site training.
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards.
• Review JSAs with supervisors and crews.
• Complete safety audits and track corrective actions.
• Investigate incidents and report findings.
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Support JHSC meetings and initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with legislation and client safety standards.
• Serve as a practical safety resource on site.
