Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Computer Systems Engineer in Mississauga to design safety critical computer systems for nuclear applications. You will specify system requirements, evaluate I&C products, and lead software development tasks across languages like IEC 61131-3, C, C++, Fortran, and Pascal.

You will guide a cross-disciplinary team and interact with clients to meet project objectives. The role requires an Honours degree in engineering, P.Eng.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (Ontario) registration is required.
• 10–12 years in a computer controls environment preferred.
• Nuclear plant or similar safety-critical I&C experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with CSA/IEEE I&C standards and QA programs is beneficial.
• Strong problem solving, leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptual and preliminary design of safety, control, and monitoring computer systems.
• Evaluate digital I&C products and define architectures and processes.
• Develop software engineering artifacts including specs, designs, and tests.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and deliver presentations to stakeholders.
