Senior I&C Engineering Lead – Nuclear Systems

Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks an experienced I&C Engineering Lead to direct a team of I&C engineers, delivering design requirements, diagrams, and related documentation for nuclear projects.

You will review deliverables for quality, manage schedules, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in field fabrication and construction. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and excellent communication in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario, in good standing (or P.Eng. application in final stage).
• BS Honors degree in I&C/Electrical/Automation engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of design implementation/construction support experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a technical environment.
• Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) and Smart Plant 3D is an asset.
• Nuclear plant experience or similar installation is an asset.
• Familiarity with I&C systems functions, configurations and CSA/IEEE standards is an asset.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of I&C engineers to prepare I&C related tasks and deliverables.
• Review and ensure I&C deliverables are of high quality, including design requirements, design descriptions, diagrams, and specifications.
• Track schedule, resolve complex technical issues, and guide the team with stakeholders.
• Represent I&C Design Engineering in the field during fabrication and construction.
• Provide I&C design support to the construction team in the field.
• Lead design of nuclear I&C systems and modifications, including requirements, control logic, and setpoints.
• Perform sizing and selection for I&C components and produce related documentation.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines and suppliers.
