The Mason Group - Strategic Search Partners seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to independently oversee accounting operations for a mortgage lending and financial services firm in Toronto. You will manage daily financial activities, mortgage payments, investor reconciliations, and regulatory reporting with minimal supervision.

Formación

• Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in financial services or mortgage lending preferred.
• Strong bank reconciliations and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple accounting responsibilities.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to meet monthly and annual reporting deadlines without supervision.

Responsabilidades

• Manage daily banking and accounting functions.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial reports.
• Perform mortgage portfolio and investor reconciliations.
• Process payments, deposits, and disbursements.
• Maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.
• Independently manage monthly mortgage payment processing.
• Prepare, process, reconcile and remit mortgage payments to investors.
• Monitor missed payments, short payments, and payment discrepancies.
• Process mortgage renewals, payouts and discharges.
• Prepare mortgage discharge statements and supporting documentation.
• Follow up on outstanding balances and payout shortfalls.
• Negotiate payment arrangements within company guidelines.
• Document collection activities and borrower communications.
• Resolve account discrepancies and escalated issues.
• Prepare and coordinate FSRA Annual Information Return filings.
• Coordinate the annual financial statement audit.
• Prepare financial schedules and supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Coordinate and complete annual tax slip preparation and filing.
• Maintain accurate records to support financial, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
