Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer with expertise in Extractive Metallurgy to lead metallurgical processes in Kimberley. You will optimize ore processing, maximize yield, and minimize environmental impact, working with diverse ore bodies and advanced technologies.

Responsibilities include piloting studies, refining processing steps, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across operations and the value chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in extractive metallurgy, preferably in the diamond or precious metals industry.
• Strong knowledge of mineral processing techniques, thermodynamics, and chemical kinetics.

• Design, develop, and optimize metallurgical processes for mineral extraction, including comminution, flotation, leaching, and refining.
• Conduct pilot plant testing and feasibility studies for new metallurgical processes and technologies.
• Analyze metallurgical accounting data to monitor plant performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Troubleshoot operational issues related to plant equipment, chemical reagents, and process parameters.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations related to metallurgical operations.
• Collaborate with geologists, mine planners, and operations teams to optimize the entire value chain from ore body to final product.

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of metallurgical processes, focusing on maximizing yield and minimizing environmental impact.
