Job summary

PowerCo Canada Inc. is hiring a Senior Mechanical & Electrical & Plumbing Specialist to lead construction management of M&E systems in St. Thomas, Ontario.

The role requires ensuring compliance with project specs, standards and safety codes while delivering high-quality outcomes. You will oversee on-site activities, coordinate with internal and external teams, review drawings and RFIs, and manage costs and schedules to prevent delays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional engineer certification (P.Eng./P.E.) preferred.
• 5+ years in managing complex projects in clean/dry rooms, automotive, or pharma environments.
• Experience in design-build projects and coordinating large project teams.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong planning, scheduling, risk management and QA/QC capabilities.
• Proficiency with CAD/BIM and construction management tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and oversee on-site plumbing, mechanical, and electrical activities.
• Review drawings, docs, and BIM models to identify conflicts and ensure alignment with specs.
• Coordinate drawings and docs to streamline workflows and avoid delays.
• Monitor schedules, manage RFIs, and approve shop drawings with stakeholders.
• Supervise on-site progress to meet timelines and quality standards.
• Control material and labor costs; report on progress and variances.
• Assist in resource planning and procurement of materials and equipment.
• Identify project risks and implement corrective actions.
• Provide direction during testing of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Lead project closeout, inspections, and handover activities.
• Prepare and submit regular progress and compliance reports.
