Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Delivery Center team in Canada. You will lead designs, mentor junior staff, and ensure technical excellence across mining, minerals, oil & gas, and power projects. The role emphasizes collaboration, standards development, and client interaction.

The position offers opportunities to work across multiple offices, contribute to standardization, and grow within a leading global design firm. Prior mining mechanical experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university; At least 15 years of mechanical engineering work experience related to mining projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced engineering design tasks on assigned projects.
• Apply codes and standards to projects and designs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in meetings and design reviews.
• Oversee quality of project deliverables using QC guidelines.
• Mentor junior staff and promote continuous improvement.
• Develop design basis memorandums and project specifications.
• Produce piping specifications and hydrotest procedures.
• Manage mechanical deliverables across multiple projects.
