Job summary

Stantec’s Mining, Minerals and Metals Practice seeks a Project Engineer to join an established Canadian team, leading engineering studies, detailed design, and construction support for mine projects. You will coordinate between execution and management, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires a mining-related degree and at least five years in heavy industry engineering, with travel to client sites and multiple Stantec offices.

Qualifications

• Requires degree or diploma in a mining-related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry (surface or underground mining).
• Knowledge of design codes and Mine Health and Safety Regulations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Work in compliance with Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.
• Ensure safety codes and guidelines are met by design and technology.
• Review drawings for safety and constructability concerns before clients.
• Provide engineering support to meet client needs and incorporate feedback.
• Act as the key link between technical execution and project management teams.
• Direct and manage a team of engineers and designers through project stages.
• Interface with clients on technical issues and communicate risks and value opportunities.
• Maintain, evaluate, and adjust engineering processes including quality control.
