Stantec is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Delivery Center Team in Canada. The role supports a broad portfolio across mining, minerals, oil & gas, and power & dams, with leadership in design and project execution.

You will mentor junior staff, develop standards, and interact with clients to deliver high-quality mechanical solutions. The home office can be in any Canadian location where the Energy & Resources BU has a presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and 15+ years of mining-related mechanical experience.
• Professional Engineering designation or eligibility for registration in other jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with multiple project delivery models and basic project management practices.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical design specs, standards and codes, across diverse geographies.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering deliverables across multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Provide technical mentoring to junior staff and support continuous improvement.
• Prepare piping specs, hydrotest procedures, and design templates.
• Develop DBMs and design basis memorandums for projects.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams in design reviews.
• Ensure QA/QC of project documents and adherence to HSSE requirements.
• Lead development of standards, specifications, and 3D models for mechanical systems.
• Oversee construction work packages and provide commissioning guidance.
