We are looking for a dynamic leader who is as passionate as we are with helping Canadians succeed with credit. The Third-Party Management Team provides third party sourcing services utilizing integral governance practices to support Capital One’s strategic objectives.

As Senior Manager, Supplier Management, Governance and Process Management, reporting to the Director of Third-Party Management, you are the first line of defense in respect of which, you will partner with business partners and stakeholders on third party matters to ensure you and your team provide the best leverage to Capital One in the third party space while effectively managing risk. This will include adherence to Third-Party Risk Management policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

In addition, you have deep expertise and market knowledge within various categories to support our technology-focused business ensure that our third-party arrangements provide Capital One with a competitive advantage through optimum pricing structures, strong negotiation skills and rationalization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop strong relationships as a trusted advisor and partner with business teams to support Capital One objectives by collaborating and effectively executing on strategic sourcing activities with a proactive approach.
  • Serve as the Process Owner for third party management processes, accountable for supporting team members in enhancing controls, managing risks, and improving effectiveness.
  • Oversee the Canada Site Assessment and the Third-Party Data Share Program.
  • Ensure comprehensive oversight of all suppliers and services encompassed within inter/intra-company agreements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders (1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defense) across the organization to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Lead governance activities, including control testing and reporting, for the Third-Party Management organization.
  • Develop and manage policies, standards, procedures, and processes related to third party management.
  • Remain informed about changes in regulations and industry trends that may influence operational practices.
  • Provide leadership and support as required for internal audit reviews, regulatory inquiries, incident management, and remediation activities.
  • Participate in key management forums and contribute to continuous improvement of risk, process, and project/program management practices.
  • Strong relationship management with both internal stakeholders and third parties to ensure that business objectives are met.
  • Strong risk management and industry knowledge as well as seasoned negotiation and influencing skills to support strong pricing and third-party service level commitments outcomes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with various stakeholders with an acute appreciation for deadlines impacting speed to market for Capital One products or services.
  • Have an innovative mindset with the objective of creating efficiency.
For this role you will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, technology, or engineering preferred.
  • At least 7 years of experience within third party management within the financial industry to include process and risk management.
  • At least 7 years experience working in a cross-functional environment, ensuring business and stakeholder expectations are effectively managed.
  • At least 4 years of experience leading a team.
  • Strong market knowledge within different sourcing categories relevant to the credit card business to include deep negotiation, communication, contract and influencing skills with the ability to optimize on pricing structures.
  • Experience using Lean & Six Sigma tools & methodologies.
  • Program/Project Management expertise.
  • Experience in basic coding and/or data visualization (e.g., SQL, Tableau).
