The Job!

Reporting to the Executive Director, you are a leader of your own marketing and fundraising team. You can expect to:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to boost brand visibility and engagement.
  • Secure and manage high-value corporate sponsorships that reflect and support the organization's mission.
  • Lead digital strategy across social media, email, and website for effective storytelling and outreach.
  • Manage external media and marketing vendors to execute successful campaigns.
  • Cultivate media opportunities to enhance the organization's public presence in the arts.
  • Oversee content creation and branding to ensure a consistent and compelling image.
  • Expand revenue streams through foundation, government, corporate, and event-based funding.
  • Create and execute fundraising strategies focused on donor engagement and retention.
  • Develop and pitch sponsorship proposals to grow corporate and philanthropic support.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to guide strategic decisions and reporting.
  • Lead grant strategy to align funding opportunities with organizational priorities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to staff to achieve department goals.
  • Oversee and support the work of the Marketing Manager and Fundraising Coordinator.
  • Set and monitor performance metrics for marketing and revenue-generating activities.
  • Foster cross-department collaboration to integrate marketing and fundraising with programs.
  • Serve as a key representative of the organization, building relationships with stakeholders.

What you bring to the job

You are an experienced leader in marketing and the not-for-profit sector with a passion for art and creation. You are collaborative, engaging, results-driven, and a great storyteller. You have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, ideally in the not-for-profit sector
  • Experience with fundraising, donor relations, and corporate sponsorships
  • Experience as a team leader including performance management and team coaching
  • Experience in strategy development, project management, budgets, financial targets, and reporting
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and use data insights to drive strategy
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, especially crafting compelling narratives
  • A strong skill set in digital marketing campaigns and driving social media engagement
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and/or donor management systems such as CanadaHelps
