Directive Consulting is a performance marketing agency for SaaS and Tech companies. We use Customer Generation, a methodology focusing on SQLs and Customers instead of traditional metrics like MQLs. We offer Paid Media, SEO/Content, CRO, and Video, creating strategies that help clients hit their SQL targets consistently.

Note: This role is internally titled Content Marketing Strategist.

The Content Strategists and Sr Content Strategists are client-facing roles responsible for daily deliverables, creating and managing custom strategies, and communication with clients and internal teams. They handle more Enterprise clients and require a deep understanding of their service line and its impact on other business areas to develop holistic marketing strategies.

The ideal candidate must have a strong grasp of content strategy, technical SEO (site audits, structured data, Core Web Vitals), and the ability to blend technical insights with content initiatives to drive organic growth and search visibility.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Strategic Excellence and Best Practices: Develop and implement custom marketing strategies aligned with client goals and best practices. Use data and ongoing campaigns to optimize strategies. Collaborate with leadership to address challenges and ensure alignment. Create briefs and develop content campaigns based on insights. Apply frameworks like LTV modeling and share of SERP.
  • Goal Setting: Analyze data sources like Google Analytics, CRM, SEMrush, and Ahrefs to set measurable goals. Collaborate with leadership to review and finalize goals with clients.
  • Project Management: Oversee strategy execution, assign and track tasks using tools like Asana, and coordinate with content creators and designers to deliver high-quality campaigns.
  • Communication: Act as the primary contact for clients, maintaining trust and proactively communicating via Slack and meetings. Keep internal leadership informed of account developments.
  • Reporting and Insights: Prepare updates on strategy progress, conduct regular meetings, and deliver performance reports. Present bi-annual business reviews.
  • Foundational SEO Skills: Conduct SEO audits, identify issues, and recommend improvements. Execute on-page and off-page strategies, including keyword research and link building to improve rankings.
  • Tools: Must-have skills include Screaming Frog, SEMrush, GA4, Search Console, and Excel. Nice-to-have tools include Ahrefs and BrightEdge.
