Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Cook to prepare and deliver meals for residents across our retirement residences, with morning shifts and a competitive hourly wage. You will follow established menus, ensure food quality, and manage prep Cooks and Dishwashers to meet service standards.

The role requires completing a 12-month cooking program, holding Food Safe certification, and having at least two years of related hospitality experience.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Mentally and physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Able to plan and organize meal service.

Responsibilities

• Maintains conduct, grooming and appearance per resort standards.
• Prepares food according to menus and recipes, batches and quantities.
• Plans preparation and cooking schedule to minimize time between cooking and serving.
• Cooks soups, sauces, salads, meats and desserts by various methods.
• Carves meat and ensures proper portioning to meet quotas.
• Produces an end product that meets quality standards for residents.
• Maintains proper food rotation and stores supplies properly.
• Assigns tasks to Prep Cooks and Dishwashers.
