Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Cook to prepare and deliver meals for residents, guests and staff in a retirement setting. The role requires following menus, production sheets and standardized recipes while maintaining budgets and safety standards.

Must have a Food Handler's Certificate; Red Seal is preferred. Experience in large-scale nutrition, knowledge of health regulations, and ability to work with therapeutic diets are essential.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's Certificate is required.
• Red Seal Certificate preferred.
• Experience in large quantity food preparation, healthcare or retirement setting.
• Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
• Ability to lift and transfer heavy items and stand for long shifts.
• Second language knowledge is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or be responsible for preparation/delivery of all foods for residents, guests and employees.
• Review menus and production sheets; prepare and serve meals attractively.
• Ensure proper food handling techniques are used.
• Complete daily temperature audits for fridge, freezers and storerooms.
