Candidates should have a Food Handler’s Certificate and be able to operate within budget, safety rules, and quality standards. Knowledge of provincial regulations and experience in healthcare food service are preferred; ability to work in a team and maintain high service levels is

Qualificações

• Must possess a Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Red Seal Certificate preferred.
• Experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in healthcare or retirement setting.
• Knowledge of Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide.
• Knowledge of and experience with special and therapeutic diets.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand for extended periods.
• Second language skills are an asset.
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check or be willing to obtain one.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and deliver foods for residents, guests and employees.
• Review menus and production sheets and prepare/serve meals attractively.
• Ensure proper food handling techniques are used.
• Complete daily temperature audits for fridge/freezers/storerooms and record findings.
• Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic diets per planned menus.
• Make substitutions and record them as required.
• Follow production charts and recipes within budget.
• Comply with regulations and department policies; attend trainings.
• Support resident rights and participate in quality improvement programs.
• Uphold ethics, integrity and the organization’s values.
