Cogir Senior Living in Newmarket, Ontario seeks an Active Living Aide to assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents, under the supervision of the Active Living Manager and Executive Director.

This role emphasizes collaboration with families and staff, and a commitment to resident well-being, ethics, and integrity. Duties include activity assessments, daily programs, and meal support as needed.

Formación

• College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience working with seniors is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
• Valid provincial driver's license to transport residents by van (i.e.: Class 4; Class F).
• Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents, in collaboration with the Active Living Manager & Executive Director.
• Maintains records including assessments and evaluations of planned programs and participation, charting.
• Maintains effective communication with residents, families, volunteers and staff, informing them of events.
• Attends in-service education to stay informed on elderly care trends.
• Participates in team meetings to plan programs aligned with residents' interests.
• Facilitates residents’ participation in scheduled outings.
• Assists with assessment of individual resident activity levels.
• Prepares, carries out and evaluates daily activities.
• Assists with meal services as required.
• Acts with residents in a trusted capacity and upholds the organization's ethics and integrity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
