Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Mississauga is seeking an Active Living Aide to support planning and delivering enriching programs for residents. You will assist with activities, outings, meals and records, reporting to the Active Living Manager.

Qualifications

• College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent.
• Experience working with seniors is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
• Valid provincial driver's license to transport residents by van.
• Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful resident programs.
• Maintain department records, assessments and evaluation notes.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
• Attend in-service education to stay current on elder care trends.
• Participate in team meetings to plan activities aligned with resident interests.
• Assist with scheduled outings and activity assessments.
• Prepare, carry out and evaluate daily activities; assist with meals as required.
