Job summary

Bayview Seniors Community in White Rock, BC is seeking a passionate Activities Assistant (Casual) to plan, facilitate and evaluate recreation and life enrichment programs for residents in Long Term Care and Memory Care neighborhoods.

You will lead a small team, work with volunteers and staff, and ensure programming supports physical, social and emotional well-being while aligning with Bayview’s culture and resident-centered care approach.

Qualifications

• Diploma in recreation/leisure studies from a recognized college or university.
• Courses in gerontology are preferred.
• 2–3 years’ experience in recreation programming and/or volunteer management for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Plans, leads and coordinates development and evaluation of activities and life enrichment programs.
• Fosters relationships with residents to assess activity needs and preferences.
• Oversees department standards, budgeting and supplies for the program.
• Manages Activities & Life Enrichment staff, bus driver and volunteers.
• Monitors transportation services and participates in multidisciplinary resident care.
