Job summary

Bayview Seniors Community in White Rock, BC, is seeking an Activities Assistant (Casual) to plan, facilitate and evaluate recreation and life-enrichment programs across Long Term Care and Memory Care neighborhoods. You will build and lead a team from the ground up, coordinating with staff and volunteers to create meaningful resident experiences.

The role emphasizes leadership, program development, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a diploma in recreation/leisure studies from a recognized community college or university; courses in gerontology.
• Knowledge of programs and techniques in recreation, community resources and program development required.
• Three - five years' experience in recreation programming and/or volunteer management for seniors population.

Responsibilities

• Plans, leads and coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of activities and life enrichment programs designed to meet residents' needs.
• Fosters and maintains a strong relationship with residents through regular meetings to assess activities and preferences.
• Oversees administrative responsibilities of the Activities & Life Enrichment program, including budget, standards, and supplies.
• Manages the Activities & Life Enrichment Assistant, Bus Driver and Volunteers to meet team needs and maintain standards.
• Monitors transportation services and participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for resident services.
