Job summary

Verve Senior Living in British Columbia is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to plan, direct, and evaluate activities that support the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive wellness of residents.

Under the Life Enrichment Manager, you will lead engaging programs, coordinate calendars, communicate with residents and families, and participate in quality improvement while complying with safety policies.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education required.
• Prior experience in recreation programming for seniors preferred.
• Diploma or degree in Recreation, Physical Education, and/or Gerontology asset.
• Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
• Emergency First Aid and CPR required.
• CanFitPro certification preferred.
• Proven computer literacy and adaptability with databases.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and evaluate activities addressing physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs.
• Lead and promote resident participation in leisure and recreation programs.
• Maintain department records including attendance, assessments and evaluations.
• Communicate department activities to residents, staff, families and community to encourage engagement.
• Assist in supervising volunteers and student placements.
• Adhere to quality standards and safety policies.
