Job summary

Extendicare is seeking an Activity Aide to assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents. You will collaborate with the Recreation Manager and Executive Director to support daily activities and outings, and help with assessments and documentation.

The ideal candidate has a college diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies or Gerontology, experience with seniors, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Diploma in recreation or gerontology required.
• Experience working with seniors preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents.
• Maintain department records including assessments and evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
• Participate in team meetings and in-service education.
• Assist with meal services as required.
