Job summary

Regency Long Term Care in Port Hope, ON is seeking an Activity Aide to support residents through planned recreational and therapeutic programs, contributing to engagement and quality of life.

This part-time role requires a recreation certificate or diploma, experience with seniors, strong communication, and a valid driver's license. On-call casual schedule includes day and evening shifts; on-site teamwork with the Program Manager and volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent in recreation/activation.
  • Experience working with seniors, preferably in long-term care.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Energetic, compassionate, dedicated to improving residents' lives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing meaningful activities for residents.
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and volunteers to run programs.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Contribute to developing individualized resident care plans through team conferences.
  • Maintain activity equipment and supplies and uphold safety standards.
  • Attend in-service sessions to stay current on best practices.
