Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. is seeking a Recreation Aide to assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident-centered recreation programs. Work with the Recreation Manager and Executive Director to create inclusive activities that promote social connection and well-being.

Responsibilities include coordinating programs, documenting participation, supporting assessments, and facilitating transportation as needed, while maintaining a compassionate, team-oriented approach for our seniors.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or related field is required.
• Experience with seniors in recreation, healthcare, or community settings is an asset.
• Proficient in English communication and Microsoft Office.
• Must provide Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination and delivery of resident-centered recreation programs.
• Create welcoming environment to encourage resident participation and social connection.
• Support assessments and evaluate engagement, preferences, and program effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate documentation including participation records and program notes.
• Collaborate with Recreation Manager and Executive Director; assist with transportation as required.
