Job summary

The Yukon Water Board Secretariat, within the Executive Council Office, seeks a Manager of Licensing in Whitehorse. Lead Licensing Officers, oversee board licensing under the Waters Act, and ensure fair, timely processing of applications with regulatory compliance.

Reporting to the Director, you will manage daily workflows, mentoring staff, and providing expert advice to applicants and industry while upholding service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary degree in environmental science, natural resource management, physical, natural sciences or other related fields.
• Strong leadership skills and experience leading or supervising a work unit.
• Experience working with and interpreting legislation (preferably Waters Act, Quartz and Placer Mining Acts and Yukon Environmental and Socio‑economic Assessment Act).
• Experience conducting research and providing recommendations, preferably in a regulatory or advisory context.
