Job summary

RBC Insurance is seeking a senior Java Application Full-Stack developer to guide technical direction, design and implement applications within the RBC Insurance Digital portfolio. You will collaborate with multiple internal teams and provide leadership on development and maintenance across projects.

The role emphasizes mentoring, UI/UX quality, and robust microservices with OpenShift/Azure deployment, API publishing via APIGEE, and strong CI/CD practices in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience with Java 11+, Angular 7+, REST API/Micro services, Spring, Spring Boot, SQL.
• Experience building and operating applications on OpenShift / Azure.
• Experience with APIGEE API publishing to both internal and external partners.
• Experience working in an Agile development team.
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools - Jenkins, GitHub, Automated Testing tools, or similar tools.
• Experience utilizing AI developer tools (Co-pilot, Windsurf or similar).
• 5+ years experience developing web based applications (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with Swagger Codegen, Apache CXF, AngularJS, Kafka, nginx
• Familiarity with IBM Security Access Manager, IBM WebSphere Application Server
• Experience with cloud identity solutions like AUTH0 / Azure AD
• Experience with OpenShift / Azure deployments
• OAuth, OIDC & SAML knowledge

Responsibilities

• Work within an Agile product team to deliver exceptional products.
• Mentor and coach other developers across projects.
• Contribute to intuitive, robust, reusable user interfaces using modern frameworks.
• Develop, test and design UI and microservices exposing data and services to partners.
• Ensure documentation and follow industry best practices in development and reuse.
• Collaborate to design and implement software logic following best practices.
• Assist operations in promoting code to production and ensuring performance and reliability.
• Stay informed on new technologies and applying them to challenges.
• Communicate technical details clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Support maintenance tasks for deployed applications in the portfolio.
