Job summary

RBC is seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Developer to design, code, and deliver high-quality Java Spring Boot and Python solutions within an Agile product team. You will guide a diverse squad, champion code quality, and drive modernizations while aligning with business growth.

You will collaborate closely with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to ensure outcomes meet business needs and support RBC’s Backoffice operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or a related field.
8–10 years of experience in software development.
Fluency with Java 17+ language features (records, sealed classes, pattern matching, Streams, concurrency).
Proficiency with Spring Boot for microservices, REST APIs, DI, configuration, and Spring ecosystem integration.
Strong ORM experience with JPA/Hibernate and database tuning.
Hands-on experience with messaging systems (IBM MQ, Solace, Kafka) and messaging patterns.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker for container orchestration and deployment.
Proficiency in Python with data libraries (Pandas/Polars) and SQL connections.

Establish best coding practices across the journey.
Advocate for updates to the technology stack within the journey.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to the journey and team.

Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
