Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Mississauga, Canada, is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our Technology team. You will design and deliver high-performance Java-based solutions, leveraging Spring Boot and Camel in a high-throughput environment, while mentoring peers and upholding engineering standards.

You will work in a hybrid model (3 days in office, 2 remote) with exposure to enterprise-grade shared services, performance tuning, and secure development practices within an Agile framework.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining enterprise shared services with Java 8, Spring Boot, and MongoDB.
• Proficiency with messaging and integration technologies including Camel, JMS, WebSphere MQ, TIBCO EMS, and OSGi.
• RESTful API development, SSL, and Git-based source control workflows.
• Containerization with Docker and OpenShift.
• Experience with Agile lifecycles, including sprint planning and CI.
• DevOps tooling: GitHub, uDeploy, SonarQube.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement enterprise Java applications using Spring Boot, Apache Camel, and related technologies to meet complex requirements.
• Build and maintain messaging and integration layers using JMS, WebSphere MQ, and TIBCO EMS to support high-volume processing.
• Lead application analysis, performance tuning, and measurement activities to ensure reliability and throughput in production.
• Manage Tier 3 production support, diagnosing and resolving critical issues to minimize service disruption.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle within an Agile delivery model.
• Implement and recommend security measures during post-deployment analysis to protect system integrity.
• Act as a technical advisor to senior stakeholders and junior team members, setting engineering standards.
• Assess technical and operational risk to ensure compliance and safeguard Citi's systems.
