Job summary

Citi is seeking an experienced Lead Applications Developer in Mississauga to own complex Java microservices initiatives. You will drive design, development, and delivery of enterprise-scale systems within a global technology organization.

In this senior IC role, you set technical direction and translate business needs into scalable software solutions worldwide. Responsibilities include leading end-to-end development, mentoring engineers, and ensuring compliance and high engineering quality.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in software application development or systems analysis.
• Deep expertise in Java microservices development, including system design and API integration.
• Proven ability to lead complex software projects from initiation to implementation.
• Subject matter expertise in at least one core area of applications development.
• Strong systems analysis skills and ability to translate findings into engineering solutions.
• Excellent communication of technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver Java-based microservices aligning with enterprise architecture standards.
• Lead end-to-end software development across design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to integrate systems and launch new products.
• Analyze and resolve high-impact technical problems using deep domain knowledge.
• Assess interconnections across application, infrastructure, and architecture domains to guide decisions.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and analysts, guiding work and distributing tasks.
