PRI Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Vancouver team, shaping high-performance backend solutions designed for the cloud. You will own critical components, mentor engineers, and drive architecture discussions across distributed systems.

You should bring deep Java/Spring experience, strong gRPC knowledge, and hands-on proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools. The role emphasizes collaboration, production readiness, and delivering scalable backend services.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java development and Spring/Spring Boot expertise.
• Experience with gRPC and backend service development.
• Experience with high-performance, scalable applications and CI/CD.
• Proficient in SQL, Oracle databases, and unit testing/mocking (JUnit/Mockito/EasyMock).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/PCF).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services using Java.
• Build applications using Spring, gRPC, and related Java frameworks.
• Own technical assets and workstreams, ensuring quality and production readiness.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on architecture and design decisions.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews and promote coding standards and clean architecture.
• Develop automated deployment, testing, and validation processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and mentor engineers.
