Job summary

Priceline.com LLC in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a Java Developer to design and enhance backend systems and REST APIs. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with remote work on non-peak days, leveraging modern Generative AI tools to accelerate development.

You will work on cloud-native applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka, ensuring low latency and high throughput with robust CI/CD pipelines and real-time data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering and development experience.
• Expertise in Core Java and Spring Boot for high-performance apps.
• Strong SQL skills for data queries and analysis.
• Experience with observability tools (Splunk, New Relic).
• Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Willingness to use GenAI tools to boost productivity.
• Proficient Git/Gitflow with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud (GCP/AWS).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to critical projects impacting Priceline’s business strategy.
• Develop high-performance, cloud-native Java applications with Spring Boot.
• Build low-latency, high-throughput services with CI/CD pipelines.
• Use SQL to collect and analyze data in real-time.
• Leverage Splunk/New Relic to monitor and optimize performance.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team delivering iteratively.
• Understand codebase and business needs to implement changes.
