Job summary

ProServeIT is seeking a Senior IT Operations Specialist to ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of enterprise IT systems in a remote Canada-based role. You will act as a Tier 3 escalation, lead incident response, and drive continuous improvement across infrastructure, endpoints, identity, and core business platforms.

The role requires deep expertise in Windows/Linux, Active Directory/Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), with ITIL-based service management

Qualifications

• A Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure support.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365.
• Solid understanding of IT service management (ITIL concepts).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs).
• Experience with monitoring, backup, and recovery tools.

Responsibilities

• IT Operations & Service Reliability: Guarantee high availability, performance, and reliability of IT systems and services.
• Systems, Infrastructure & Identity: Administer Windows and/or Linux servers, virtualization, and storage; manage identity systems.
• Security, Compliance & Risk: Enforce security standards, access controls, patch compliance, and remediation; support audits and incidents.
• Process Improvement & Documentation: Develop runbooks and SOPs; identify automation opportunities; track operational metrics.
