Job summary

WSP in Sudbury, Ontario is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to shape the electrical power systems for mining and heavy industrial projects. You will lead electrical design for new construction and brownfield work, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance from concept to completion.

Based in our Sudbury office, you will mentor junior engineers, perform power system studies with ETAP/EasyPower, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver high‑quality solutions for clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical engineering design experience.
• P.Eng. license in BC; other jurisdictions considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of CSA, ANSI, IEEE and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power distribution and control systems for safe, reliable industrial operations.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short‑circuit, arc‑flash) using ETAP or EasyPower.
• Prepare specs and data sheets for switchgear, MCCs, transformers and equipment.
• Deliver electrical systems design across power distribution, motor control, lighting, grounding, and protection.
• Incorporate regulatory compliance, safety, and risk analysis into design stages.
