Job summary

WSP in Sudbury, Ontario is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical power systems for mining and heavy industrial projects.

You will design power distribution, control systems, and drive efficiency while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. This role requires P.Eng in Ontario and 12+ years of experience, with responsibility for mentoring and cross‑discipline coordination.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of electrical engineering design experience in heavy industrial facilities.
• P.Eng licence in Ontario or eligible.
• Strong knowledge of CSA, ANSI, IEEE standards.
• Proficiency with power system modelling tools and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power distribution and control systems for safe, reliable operations.
• Perform power system studies: load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash analyses.
• Prepare specifications for switchgear, MCCs and transformers.
• Oversee engineering calculations and verify design accuracy through reviews.
• Coordinate design activities across disciplines for seamless project delivery.
• Mentor junior staff and guide the next generation of engineers.
