Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to work on hydropower plants, dams, and hydraulic structures from offices across Canada. The role focuses on leading projects, performing hydraulic analyses, and collaborating on multidisciplinary initiatives in infrastructure and environmental programs.

You will contribute to feasibility studies, design development, and detailed engineering while mentoring team members.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydraulic Engineering.
Minimum 15 years of hydraulic design experience for hydropower and dam safety.
Strong knowledge of HEC software suite (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS).
Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
French fluency (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

Lead discipline-specific assignments and coordinate engineering teams.
Prepare technical reports and calculation packages for hydraulic studies and dam projects.
Design hydropower developments and pumped storage facilities, and associated infrastructure.
Perform hydraulic/hydrodynamic modelling using 1D/2D/3D methods.
Mentor engineers and conduct quality reviews of technical studies.
