Stantec’s Water Resources Team in BC seeks a Senior Hydrologist or Water Resources Engineer to provide senior technical oversight, stamp deliverables, and guide hydrologic modelling and water management projects. Role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and client-facing interactions.

The position requires a Master’s degree (PhD asset), 13+ years in hydrology, and registration as a professional geoscientist or engineer (P.Geo./P.Eng.).

Qualifications

• Registration as a professional geoscientist or engineer (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
• Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills, including client, engineer, scientist, and government liaison.
• Disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellence in a leadership-driven environment.
• Leadership in continuously improving technical performance and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical oversight across hydrometrics, hydrologic assessments and modelling, water balances, and water management for mining and related sectors.
• Review and stamp hydrology deliverables, including reports and regulatory documents.
• Lead hydrologic assessments and predictive modelling with appropriate methods and climate-change considerations.
• Provide senior review and direction for water balances and management plans from permitting to closure.
• Lead hydrometric programs including design, QA/QC, data interpretation, and reporting.
