Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Senior Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinator to lead site safety plans on our BC projects. You will develop safety processes, train staff, and ensure a safe work environment across a range of construction activities.

You will implement WHMIS, Fall Protection, PPE and CPR/First Aid training, monitor subcontractors, and ensure compliance with OHS regulations on site in British Columbia. This role emphasizes proactive safety culture and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum 6–10 years of safety construction experience.
Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules.
Hold an NCSO designation and knowledge of OHS regulations.
Advanced First Aid certification for British Columbia.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for site specific safety orientation, job site inspections and accident/incident reports.
Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance with safety procedures and elevate issues to resolution.
Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them.
Organize and conduct training programs including WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid.
Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety-first culture.
Review subcontractors’ pre-construction safety submittals and weekly safety documentation.
Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly project health and safety statistics.
