About this opportunity

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the primary objective of the Human Resources Advisor is to provide a full spectrum of Human Resources support services to the business unit in the areas of recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and HR programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advisory and administrative support to the Senior HR Manager and all levels of the Operating Unit for HR-related matters and business initiatives.
  • Manage the full cycle recruitment process for internal and external positions, including creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and participating in interviews, facilitating background and reference checks, drafting employment offers, and new hire forms.
  • Lead the onboarding process for new hires, including documentation and training.
  • Advise and coach managers and supervisors on HR policies, best practices, leadership skills, and employee relations issues.
  • Manage employee status changes and amendments throughout the year.
  • Assist with workforce planning and compensation review initiatives.
  • Participate in coaching, discipline, and investigation meetings; draft related documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions; maintain training records.
  • Update and maintain HR process trackers and files to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Run reports through HRIS and Excel systems.
  • Assist with performance and compensation reviews for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Coordinate the annual service award program and presentation.
  • Manage the administration of the employee excellence program.
  • Coordinate workplace health and wellness seminars and workshops.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, chair Social Committee meetings, and organize events.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a HR Generalist.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • CHRP designation or working towards it is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with HR platforms like PeopleSoft and Kronos is an asset.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (Employment Standards Act, Labour laws, Human Rights, AODA).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of tasks.
  • Team player with problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Discretion and tact in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with social media platforms like Instagram is an asset.
