Job summary

Brunel in Canada (Calgary) seeks a Sr. HR Officer to manage HR tasks for the Area Office and coordinate with Head Office.

You will supervise HR andAdministration activities, develop procedures, handle recruitment, onboarding, training, appraisals, and ensure accurate HR data in partnership with Finance and HR teams. The role requires a Bachelor’s in business/HR and at least six years in HR/Administration, preferably in Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all HR related duties and responsibilities for AO and elsewhere as assigned from time to time.
  • Development of procedures related to HR function, review and improvement where required and implementing after appropriate approvals and keep a perpetual record for future use.
  • Perform personnel administrative & compensation tasks, such as promotion process, according to company Policy & procedure.
  • Perform training related arrangements for new and existing employees and the ongoing training of other employees
  • Assume responsibility for rolling out various Head Office HR initiatives in own Area Office; also work closely with Area Office personnel to ensure timely consolidation of all information required by Head Office for successfully executing various people processes such as appraisals, Individual Balance Score Card, Promotions, etc.
  • Perform assigned recruitment and manpower tasks including coordinating and participating in the hiring process, preparing and reviewing employment contracts in line with company Policy and Procedures, and participate in consolidating and validating the Area Office Manpower forecasts & Budgets based on inputs received from various functions in the Area Office and dispatch the same to Head Office & Area Offices for review
  • Ensure submission of all mandatory HR related reports as required by either by Head Office HR or by local regulatory bodies Provide Senior Management with historical information and documentation on major Company issues upon request.
  • Assist Area Office seniors in formulating policy related queries intended for Head Office HR and seek responses from Head Office personnel on the same
  • Participate in as well as, supervise, accuracy of all HR data/records (including administrative records such as time and attendance) for personnel belonging to own Area Office
  • Validate employee deductions and reimbursements for Area Office employees to ensure they are processed in an accurate and timely manner, in coordination with Finance and HR departments in Head Office as necessary.
  • Provide on the job training and assistance and help develop capabilities of subordinates to enable them to perform their job effectively and efficiently
  • Provide ongoing feedback in an objective and effective manner and appraise performance of any subordinates reporting to the position
  • Operate within established ERM policies and procedures and manage job-related risks within established risk thresholds; Obtain management authorizations for risks beyond individual tolerance thresholds.
  • Comply to end user policies, procedures and guidelines for all quality standards currently in force and facilitate and provide necessary support in any audits conducted in own department as per audit role assigned
  • Assume full responsibility for performing HSE related duties and roles as envisaged by HSE policies and standards.
  • May be required by management to perform Administration related activities as and well required.
