Job summary

COWI in Toronto seeks a Leading Heavy Civil Structural Engineer specializing in bridges, tunnels and marine structures. You will lead technical delivery, mentor staff, and support multi-disciplinary projects across North America.

Required are a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, 12+ years of heavy civil experience, a P.Eng. license or eligibility, and strong knowledge of Canadian design codes with BIM proficiency. The role offers a remote-friendly schedule and a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligible to obtain.
12+ years of related experience with heavy civil structures.
Knowledge of Canadian codes for steel and concrete design; familiarity with international standards is an asset.
Proficiency with structural engineering software; BIM workflows are a plus.
Project management and proposal writing experience.

Responsibilities

Act as Technical Lead for structural engineering on infrastructure projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget.
Perform design for all phases (concept to detailed) for bridges, tunnels, marine structures.
Conduct field work and site inspections; provide engineering support during construction.
Perform Engineer of Record duties as required.
Prepare proposals, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
