Job summary

Mott MacDonald Canada is seeking a talented Bridges and Civil Structures Engineer to join the BECS team in Canada (Toronto or Vancouver). You will design, assess, and maintain bridges and related civil structures, leading engineers and coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires 5–10 years of civil/structural experience, a bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering, and CAD software proficiency. A P.Eng.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of civil/structural engineering with an emphasis on transportation and heavy civil structures (Ontario experience preferred)
• Design experience on heavy civil infrastructure including buildings and projects in transportation, rail and airports is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from a recognized university (Master’s degree is an asset)
• A Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) is preferred
• Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and MTO publications

Responsibilities

• Develop the design of a wide range of structures from planning through concept to implementation
• Assist in assessment, rehabilitation and seismic upgrade design of existing structures
• Coordinate with clients, third parties, and other professionals
• Prepare technical memos and reports communicating work
• Supervise and review work of other engineers, including drawings, cost estimates, and contract documents
• Support project management to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and sustainability considerations
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to team members and contribute to proposals
