Job summary

COWI in Toronto is seeking a Senior Bridge & Construction Engineer to lead design, detailing and erection engineering on North America projects. You will collaborate with a team of specialists and interface with clients to resolve construction issues and ensure schedules and budgets are met.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, be a licensed P.Eng in Ontario (or obtain within 12 months), and have 8+ years in bridge design/construction, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Civil/Structural Engineering
• P.Eng certification in Ontario or can obtain within 12 months of employment
• Experience in transportation construction projects
• Experience with cast-in-place or precast segmental bridges
• Strong problem solving and QA/QC awareness

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis, design, and evaluation with calculations, drawings, and work plans.
• Liaise with Contractor on site to identify construction issues and coordinate inputs.
• Supervise and coordinate engineers/technicians and review work.
• Provide technical support on precast segmental bridge construction including fabrication, forming, casting, and post-tensioning.
• Ensure work follows plans/specifications and prepare daily site reports.
• Prepare extra work estimates and maintain site records.
